Debenhams profits fall by 24%

Profits a department store Debenhams have fallen by 24% to £105.8m after a poor Christmas trading period.

Revenue increased by 1.3% to £2.31bn and like for like sales increased by 1%, but were largely driven by online sales and the international business. UK store sales fell by 1.9%.

Debenhams has been negotiating deals with Costa, Monsoon, Sports Direct and Mothercare to take concessions in an effort to revamp its stores.
