Debenhams is seeking a new chief executive as it presses ahead with plans to cut its debts.
The ailing department store has fought off a legal challenge by Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct and is now proceeding with financial restructuring plans to shave at least £100m off its £600m debt pile.
Debenhams has appointed Spencer Stuart to find a replacement for the current chief executive Stefaan Vansteenkiste, who joined from turnaround firm Alvarez & Marshal last year.
