Decision on Aberdeen FC’s new stadium delayed to October

A decision on Aberdeen Football Club’s application to build a new stadium has been delayed by four months.

The local authority has asked for further environmental assessments to be carried out, meaning a decision is now expected in October rather than in June.

The football club’s executive vice chairman, George Yule, said it was confident of meeting its original timescales if planning permission was granted in October, but a further delay would mean those timescales would be missed.
