Deep Blue fish and chip shop chain buys Harry Ramsden’s

Harry Ramsden’s has been gobbled up by the rival fish and chip shop chain Deep Blue Restaurants.

The group, which has 34 outlets in the UK, Ireland and Malaysia, 19 of them franchises, was founded in 1928 by Harry Ramsden in a wooden hut in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, although the original shop is now owned by a competitor.
