Delivering granite to the Granite City

Muse Developments is importing 180 tons of granite from China for its £107m Marischal Square project in the centre of Aberdeen – a city which is often called the Granite City because of the number of buildings and monuments made from the rock, in the past most often sourced from local quarries.

The Marischal Square development will include a hotel, as well as office and retail space.

Muse Developments said it carried out an exhaustive tendering process before deciding to source the granite from China. The shipment is due to arrive next year.
