Food delivery platform Deliveroo is opening a new kitchen for its Deliveroo Editions concept, formerly known as RooBox, in Swiss Cottage, NW3.
It has agreed a deal for a 5,000 sq ft site in a former storage unit on Finchley Road, which it has taken on a 10- year lease. It is paying £25 per sq ft for the site.
It will use the site for its Editions concept, which allows new restaurants to test an area before committing to a bricks-and-mortar site, as well as offering surplus kitchen space to restaurants that do not have enough space in their existing kitchens to process Deliveroo orders.
Customers can order the food with no delivery charge.
This site will hold up to nine kitchen pods for chefs and restaurants and is due to be operational by the end of this year.
