Deloitte has appointed Cathy Engelbert as chief executive. She will be the first female chief executive of a major US accounting and consulting firm.
Engelbert takes up the role after her time as chairman and chief executive of Deloitte subsidiary Deloitte & Touche, which she joined in 1986.
On 11 March, Engelbert will be replacing Joe Echevarria, who is leaving the company to pursue work in the public service sector.
