Deloitte rebuffs Countrywide approach

deloitte-real-estate-logo-THUMB.jpegDeloitte Real Estate has rebuffed an approach by Countrywide, the owner of Lambert Smith Hampton, to buy the business.

Deloitte is not in talks with any companies about a sale of its real estate business unit.

Deloitte merged with Drivers Jonas in January 2010 in an unusual move in which a traditional property consultancy merge with a big four accountancy firm for the first time.

Over the past year agency firms have been desperately looking to merge and acquire in order to create economies of scale and increase their global presences, most notably the takeover of Cushman & Wakefield by DTZ at the start of last year.
