Clive Emson recorded more than £20m in sales and a success rate of just under 80% for the 135 lots offered in its latest auction across southern England.
James Emson, Clive Emson’s managing director, said: “Demand continues apace, with thousands of registered bidders waiting to buy land and property through us.
“During the pandemic we have sold, at auction, more than 80% of the properties above our clients’ reserve prices.”
Highlights of the 5 May auction included a derelict four-bedroom house at Fareham, near Portsmouth (lot 132, pictured), which received 80 bids and sold for £282,000, which was £112,000 above the guide price.
A plot of land in Catford, south-east London (lot 36), attracted 90 bids and went for £280,000, which was £180,000 above its estimate, while in an executors’ sale, a compound of 14 garages in Canterbury, Kent (lot 115), was acquired for £330,000 from a guide price of £150,000-plus.
Currently let at £24,140 pa, a mixed commercial and residential investment at Seaside in Eastbourne, East Sussex (lot 21), fetched £300,000 and a large private residence in Rochester, Kent (lot 7), was acquired for £750,000.
Clive Emson’s next auction ends on 16 June, with the catalogue available from 29 May. Entries close on 25 May.
