Dennis Lopez, global chief investment officer and a member of the management board of at AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets, is leaving the company to become chief executive of QuadReal Property Group, one of Canada’s largest real estate investment management companies.
He will be based in Vancouver and be responsible for overseeing QuadReal’s global real estate investments.
Lopez joined AXA IM – Real Assets in 2009 to head and help grow the company’s investment team, while working with the management board.
He has been instrumental in the transformation of the company from Europe-centric to international focus.
His direct reports, including Laurent Jacquemin, European head of transaction, Charles Daulon du Laurens, global head of client capital group, and Greg Mansell, global head of research, now report directly to Isabelle Scemama, chief executive of AXA IM – Real Assets.
Lopez will be leaving the company at the end of May.

Lopez said: “After eight highly stimulating and successful years at AXA IM – Real Assets and having been offered a unique challenge in a new role where I will be located closer to home in North America, I have made the difficult decision to leave AXA IM – Real Assets.
“I have had an outstanding experience working at AXA IM – Real Assets, during which time the business achieved significant growth, strong innovation and expanded into new territories. I would like to very much thank the management board and all my talented colleagues and friends across the firm for making my time at AXA IM – Real Assets so truly enjoyable and highly rewarding.”
