Logistics firm Norbert Dentressangle has taken over US logistics firm Jacobson in a deal worth £452m.
Iowa-based Jacobson posted a revenue of £482m in 2013 and has 5,500 employees.
The deal is financed through NDS reserves and credit.
The takeover will boost NDS’s global sales by 15% to nearly £4bn, and will make the US the firm’s third-largest market after France and the UK.
Dentressangle chief executive Hervé Montjotin said: “The closing of this acquisition will enable us to begin integrating Jacobson into the Norbert Dentressangle Group and to begin this new step in our development in the US, a strategic market for us.”
