The University of Cambridge has secured the Department for Education as a tenant at its office building at 72 Hills Road.
The government body has signed for 25,450 sq ft on a five-year lease, at a rent of £33 per sq ft. The deal included an option to renew.
The office, which has four floors, is located close to Cambridge train station. Nearby tenants include Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Siemens, AstraZeneca, Deloitte, Eversheds, Mills & Reeve and Mott MacDonald.
The University of Cambridge bought the property in 2011, carrying out a full refurbishment and extension to provide open-plan offices. It sits on a circa 0.6-acre site.
