Plans have been submitted this week for Derby’s first private rented and build to rent sector scheme.
The plans have been drawn up on behalf of landowner Garibaldi by architect Marchini Curran Associates.
The £12m scheme, known as Derby Waterside, will replace an empty office building and adjacent land which have been vacant for 10 years. The site is close to the Council House on Derby’s North Riverside.
The 10-floor scheme will include 99 flats, comprising a mix of one and two bed apartments, offering views across the River Derwent. Commercial space and resident car parking will be on the ground floor.
Once completed, the flats will likely be owned by a major fund who will manage the entire building and offer the apartments on a secure rental-only basis.
