London & UK Property has won consent for a major student accommodation scheme in Derby city centre.
The project has been approved by Derby city council’s planning committee, subject to a section 106 agreement.
Plans include a seven-storey, 350 bedroom building, designed by GT Architects on the site of the former Sixt Car Hire depot on Cathedral Road, close to the Joseph Wright Campus of Derby College.
Mark Gowdridge, director of GT Architects, said: “The development will deliver an important element of the wider regeneration of the city’s Cathedral Quarter.”
Work is due to start on site in the next couple of weeks, with a target opening date of August 2016.
