Compendium Living, a joint venture between housing regeneration specialist Lovell and housing association Riverside, has been chosen as the main developer for the £100m Castleward Urban Village scheme in Derby.

Derby city council has selected the jv as its preferred partner for the project, which will involve the construction of around 800 homes on a 30-acre brownfield site, as well as new schools and community facilities.

Work on the first phase of the development, which will include around 100 homes and 25,000 sq ft of commercial space, will start in spring 2012.
