The High Court has rejected Derwent Holdings application for a judicial review of Trafford council’s decision to allow a Tesco supermarket to be built near Old Trafford as part of a £47m redevelopment of the cricket ground.
Derwent claimed the council had favoured the supermarket group over its own superstore application nearby because Tesco was contributing £21m to the redevelopment of Old Trafford by Ask Developments, Tesco and Lancashire County Cricket Club. Derwent owns White City retail park nearby.
