Salford City Council and the University of Salford have launched their search for a private sector partner to deliver the £800m Salford Crescent masterplan.
The masterplan, which has been designed by 5plus Architects, was unveiled in March last year for 2,500 homes, 1.6m sq ft of commercial space, 300,000 sq ft of student accommodation and 1.1m sq ft of educational space to be delivered across three zones.
CBRE has been appointed to hunt for the private sector partner.
A selection questionnaire and contract notice has been issued for the scheme, with a deadline for the return of expressions of interest by 14 June.
A preferred bidder is expected to be selected towards the end of the year.
University of Salford vice-chancellor Helen Marshall said Salford Crescent “is a project that will have a lasting, transformative effect on Salford and the wider Greater Manchester city region.”
She added: “We are looking for a partner whose vision, ambition and creativity matches that of the University and the City of Salford.”
