The developers behind an application for 474 homes at the former Kodak factory in Harrow have clinched consent for the scheme.
Harrow’s planning committee on 14 April voted 4-3 in favour of the plans for plots B1 and C1 of the Harrow Road East scheme from Barratt Homes and the Hyde Group.
The wider Eastman Village site will deliver more than 2,000 homes across the three development zones B, C and D. Last year, the partners gained approval for 1,226 homes (D1, D2, D3, D4, D5 and D6). Development has already begun on 460 homes at D7.
Detailed plans for plots B1 and C1 will see buildings of between five and 14 storeys. They include 180 affordable homes, with 71 shared ownership and 109 affordable rent.
Barratt and Hyde bought the 30-acre site with outline planning permission from Land Securities in 2017. It was previously occupied by the Kodak factory, with a range of industrial, logistics and administrative office buildings, including the main powerhouse chimney, which is to be retained.
The application will go to the mayor of London for the final sign-off.
