DevSec/Berkeley win Slough town centre regeneration race

A joint venture between Development Securities and Berkeley Homes has been chosen as preferred development partner for the regeneration of Slough town centre.

The jv beat competition from Argent and London & Regional, who were also on the shortlist for the 11ha (29-acre) council-led project, known as “Heart of Slough”.

Urban planning firm EDAW is drawing up a masterplan for the site, which will include 500,000 sq ft (46,450 sq m) of offices, 400,000 sq ft (37,160 sqm) of residential and 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sq m) of retail and leisure.

Development Securities will now work closely with Slough Borough Council and Berkeley Homes to further develop the initial concepts drawn up by EDAW and the council.
