The Department for Education and Employment is mulling over disposing of its entire property estate to private sector contractors for about £220m.
This includes 390 JobCentres, headquarter buildings in London and properties occupied by Ofsted, the Equal Opportunities Commission and other bodes from the Further Education Funding Council to the government’s Student Loans Company.
A shortlist of three bidders has been drawn up . Bids will have to be submitted by next April. It follows the success of a DSS deal and other government departments.
