Dibb Lupton Alsop to consolidate in single London HQ

Law firm Dibb Lupton Alsop (DLA) is planning to consolidate its four London offices into a single building of around 8,361 – 9,290 sq m (90,000 -100,000 sq ft).

Managing partner Nigel Knowles has confirmed that heplans to consolidate the four offices “when the right deal arrives”.

DLA employs over 500 staff in London alone and occupies 7,432 sq m (80,000 sq ft).

Last May the firm agreed to pre-let 13,935 sq m (150,000 sq ft) at £40 per sq ft at the Hill Samuel Building, 100 Wood St, EC2, but the deal fell through when the fund involved demanded onerous guarantees.

Since its formation following the merger of Dibb Lupton Broomhead and Alsop Wilkinson in October 1996, the firm has grown to 1,700 fee earners and staff, including 210 partners. In the first full year of merger turnover rose to £109m.

In the last 12 months, DLA opened a branch in Brussels, moved its Manchester operation and signed for new premises in Leeds. The firmis also understood to have a 3,250-3,700 sq m (35-40,000 sq ft) requirement on the market in Birmingham.
