Directors buy out Grenville, Smith & Duncan founders

Five directors at Grenville, Smith & Duncan (GS&D) have bought out founders Andrew Duncan and Richard Smith.

Smith and Duncan are leaving to run their own property development and investment company, Opus Land.

Alex Whiting, Richard Sunderland, Adrian McStay, Neil Anderson and Paul McCole will now head GS&D, which has a total of 34 staff in its two regional offices.

McStay will be the chairman and will head the Birmingham office, while Whiting will head the Leeds office.

McStay said: “Andrew and Richard have had interests in Opus Land for the past couple of years; they see their future with Opus. It’s very amicable and we’ve just gone through a seamless transitional period.”

The two will continue to work for the company on a consultancy basis after they leave today.

Mike Aldritt will join Smith and Duncan on a part time basis at Opus Land, which was founded two years ago.
