Directory enquiries giant set for Cardiff Gate letting

Telephone directory enquiries specialist Infonxx is poised to take up to 30,000 sq ft (2,787 sq m) at the Sterling House office scheme at Cardiff Gate Business Park.

The company announced a 25,000 sq ft (2,322 sq m) Cardiff call centre requirement in June, with Sterling House and the Global Link Building at Celtic Gateway, Cardiff Bay, then being tipped as the front-runners.

Sources say that a deal is days away, as US-based Infonxx launches a UK business ahead of the government’s opening up of the 192 directory enquiry market in October.

The 50,000 sq ft (4,645 sq m) Sterling House was built for owner Julian Hodge Bank, which never moved in.

DTZ Debenham Tie Leung had been asked to find a single tenant for Sterling House, at a rent of £15.75 per sq ft (£170 per sq m).

It is thought that Infonxx could take more space at Sterling House if its UK business succeeds.

Infonxx is in talks with the Welsh Assembly about a possible grant towards its Cardiff investment.
