Aldi is kick-starting Discovery Properties’ retail warehouse development in Newport, Gwent, by taking a pre-let on a 1,282 sq m (13,800 sq ft) store.
The retailer is paying a rent of about £107.64 per sq m (£10.00 per sq ft) for a 4,041sq m (43,500sq ft) property on the edge of Newport town centre, South Wales.
Discovery has submitted a detailed planning application for four units on the 1.31ha (3.26 acre) former Lex car dealership site adjacent to Harlequin roundabout, Malpas Road. A decision is expected next month.
