Dixons is considering opening more high-street Currys electrical stores and a miniature version of PC World as part of plans to spend £120m this year on expanding all five retail formats.
The Currys stores are conditional on a planned investment in refurbishment and refitting paying dividends. The high-street move would be a reversal of strategy. It has focused on out-of-town development for the last 10 years.
Dixons is prepared to open up to 60 mini PC World computer stores. It will test a half-size version in Inverness, Scotland this year. It also plans to expand The Link, @jakarta and Dixons outlets.
