A former director at Drivers Jonas Deloitte has been named as head of strategic land investment in the Church Commissioners’ property investment team.
John Weir will manage 50 strategic sites across 5,400 acres with the Church Commissioners, which looks after an investment portfolio, held mostly in shares and property, on behalf of the Church of England.
Weir, who will also be responsible for purchases, joins from DJD where he spent 10 years, including five years leading the agent’s Leeds office.
Joseph Cannon, chief surveyor to the Commissioners, said: “John will lead our internal and external professional teams in bringing forward our land holdings across the country, often for much needed new housing.”
