Stanhope has signed an agreement with diagnostics clinic The Doctors Laboratory for the prelet of the entire Halo Building at 1 Mabledon Place, WC1.
The 10-storey, 80,000 sq ft office building opposite the British Library was previously the headquarters of trade union UNISON.
Stanhope bought the building from UNISON in 2012 and has since been carrying out a major refurbishment with the provision of additional lower floor space. The building is due to be completed to shell and core in September.
The Doctors Laboratory, which is part of Australian company Sonic Healthcare, has taken a 15-year lease. Sonic Healthcare is one of the world’s largest providers of diagnostics, and has a turnover of A$3bn (£1.7bn) pa.
Deloitte and Knight Frank acted for the landlord; Dalton Warner Davis acted for The Doctors Laboratory.
The refurbishment was designed by architects Bennetts Associates and the project engineer is Arup.
The Alberta Investment Management Corporation provided the development phase funding facilities, alongside Stanhope.
