Dog food firm expands at Symmetry Park Doncaster

Tritax Symmetry has completed the letting of Symmetry Park Doncaster after existing tenant Butternut Box signed for a newly developed facility.

The dog food company has taken a 20-year lease on the new 133,606 sq ft building.

Butternut Box has also extended the lease on its existing 151,388 sq ft facility on the park by a further eight years to 20 years.

The expansion builds on Butternut Box’s £280m recently secured funding from new and existing investors. Both facilities will be used for the storage, fulfilment and distribution of Butternut Box’s fresh dog food and treats.

Co-founder David Nolan said: “In 2020, we took the decision to move our entire operation in-house with the option of committing to future expansion. We are now in a position to exercise that option.”

Butternut Box’s expansion marks the final letting at Symmetry Park Doncaster, which is located on the border of Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. The move follows B&Q signing for a 430,000 sq ft facility in March, with a final 1.2-acre plot remaining available for sale or to let.

Tritax Symmetry is the development arm of Tritax Big Box REIT.
