Dolphin secures Canada Life loan

House-and-pound-coin-THUMB.gifDolphin Living has received a £53.5m, fixed-rate, long-term loan from Canada Life Investments.

It is secured against a portfolio of four apartment blocks in central London that are let or are to be let on three-year ASTs and a limited number on open-market rents.

Nicholas Bent, head of real estate finance at Canada Life Investments, said: “This 30-year facility helps to further diversify our loan book.

“This is Canada Life Investments first mortgage secured against a portfolio of key worker properties in London and we are interested to provide more financing secured against this asset class.”

Intermediate affordable housing provider Dolphin Living will use the loan to deliver its 1,000 rental home target. Its portfolio includes the New Era Estate in Hackney.
