Domainex expands at Cambridge’s Unity Campus

Medicines research services provider Domainex will be expanding at the Unity Campus in Cambridge, more than tripling its existing space on the site by the end of this year.

It has agreed a lease on the three-storey Building A2, measuring 24,000 sq ft, increasing its existing 7,000 sq ft footprint on site at Iconix 2, which it moved into in January last year. It will pay £42.50 per sq ft.

The move comes amid an increase in headcount of more than 50% in the past 12 months and record revenue over the past two years.

Domainex’s new hub is one of three laboratory buildings currently being delivered at Unity Campus, all of which are due for completion in the third quarter of 2023. A2 has been designed to facilitate a 60/40 lab/office split and will be let fully fitted.

The fit-out of A2 will be delivered by Morgan Sindall, Unity Campus’s main contractor for the current development, on behalf of Howard Group.

The two remaining buildings which make up phase 2 at Unity Campus are known as Building A1, spanning across 32,500 sq ft, and Building B, totalling 31,000 sq ft. Each provides both laboratory and office spaces and are targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC B ratings.

Savills and JLL are joint agents for Unity Campus.
