Donegal site set for mixed-use redevelopment

The site of the former Fruit of the Loom factory in Buncrana, Co Donegal, is to be redeveloped as a 42,068 sq m (452,816 sq ft) mixed-use scheme.

Jansu Developments has submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of the 5.89-acre site as 70 flats, a 15-unit shopping centre, a medical centre, a restaurant and bar.

Dubbed the capital of the Inishowen peninsula, Buncrana benefits from its proximity to the two major urban areas of the north-west, Letterkenny and Derry, and attracts tourists from across the region.
