A former director of Douglas Duff, which this week entered administration, has joined Kirkby & Diamond’s Bedford office.
Andrew Clarke has been appointed head of commercial agency at Kirkby, and will be responsible for growing the business in Bedford. Kirkby said more appointments in the Bedford team will be made.
Clarke – a previous EGi most-active-regional-agent winner – joins from Milton Keynes-based agent Douglas Duff.
Douglas Duff this week ceased trading in response to professional indemnity claims made “in respect of one surveyor’s valuations made in an eight-month period in 2008”, and a lack of effective supervision by two of the firm’s former directors.
The winding up is being handled by accountants Mercer & Hole.
