Downing gets nod for £250m resi scheme in North Acton

Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation has green lit Downing’s proposals to bring forward a £250m residential development in North Acton, NW10.

The plans feature 609 homes for students and 59 build-to-rent flats across two blocks of 31 and 17 storeys. Additionally, the project will include 2,745 sq ft of commercial retail space and external amenity space. It will also be a car-free development, with Downing committed to enhance public realm areas.

The scheme will replace the existing 24,057 sq ft Holiday Inn Express hotel on Victoria Road, adjacent to North Acton tube station.

Martin Fenlon, associate projects director at Downing, said: “The supply of student accommodation plays a critical role in supporting the local economy and ensuring that London’s educational institutions can retain the UK-based and international talent.”
