Dr Oetker to take bigger slice at Leeds’ Thorpe Park

Scarborough International Properties and Legal & General Capital are preparing to prelet a third of their Building B7 office scheme at Leeds’ Thorpe Park to German food manufacturer Dr Oetker.

The baked goods and pizza company is set to take up 20,000 sq ft at the six-storey Building B7 for its head office and UK commercial centre, which received planning approval from Leeds City Council earlier in the summer.

It marks a relocation for the manufacturer, which is already based at 4600 Park Approach, as well as an expansion from roughly 15,000 sq ft. It is understood that its existing lease is nearing expiry.

The joint venture has also lined up financial services company Lowell Financial for a 135,000 sq ft prelet at a different part of the wider Thorpe Park scheme.

Lowell Financial is planning to relocate from Ellington House in Leeds Valley Park as part of its expansion strategy.

The deals mean a combined 155,000 sq ft will soon be prelet at the scheme.

The overall Thorpe Park masterplan features an 800,000 sq ft business park and 140 acres of parkland and public realm space, as well as 300 homes.

The 350,000 sq ft retail and leisure component of the scheme, The Springs, opened in 2018. Its occupiers include River Island, Next, TK Maxx, Outfit, Boots, Odeon and Pure Gym.
