Short-term lender Dragonfly has made its first two promotions following the departure of founder Jonathan Samuels.
Matt Smith has been promoted to director of risk and recoveries alongside D’mitri Zaprzala, who has been promoted to head of sales.
Smith was previously the head of credit and servicing and was the company’s first employee when it was founded in 2010.
Zaprzala joined the company in 2013 as a business development manager.
Mark Posniak, Dragonfly’s new managing director, said: “Matt joined Dragonfly in the very early days and has been integral to our success ever since. A lender is only as good as its loan decisions and Matt’s forensic understanding of, and nose for, risk has protected Dragonfly from day one. He has been instrumental in shaping this business and allowing us to lend in the volumes we have.
“D’mitri has had a massive impact since his arrival and has helped develop the business internally and externally, with a particular focus on strengthening our introducer base. I have no doubt that both will play an even more important role moving forward.”
