Dransfield unveils new supermarket plans

Dransfield Properties will unveil detailed plans for Morpeth’s new supermarket at a public consultation session being held in the Cumbrian town on 12 January.

Plans for the 50,000 sq ft, two-storey foodstore on the Low Stanners site in Morpeth also include 579 car parking spaces and landscaping.

Northumberland County Council approved the outline application in June 2010.

Mark Dransfield, managing director of Dransfield Properties, said: “We are very pleased with the designs for the supermarket, which we have been working on for the last six months.

“We are very aware of the need to ensure the new development is not only architecturally pleasing but that it links in and fits in with the existing town centre and we look forward to displaying these detailed plans at our open consultation session.”
