Drivers Jonas, like Knight Frank and Conrad Ritblat, is looking to expand its regional network by opening a new office in Birmingham.
Mike Lodge, partner at DJ, said: “A new office in Birmingham is in our business plan and we hope to open one as soon as the circumstances are right.”
However, Lodge emphasised that no time limit had been set and that the key factor is finding the right person or people to run the office. “We have never taken over another firm and what we have tended to do is to find the right person or people for the office,” he added.
Manchester was the last addition to DJ’s regional network. The office there opened some five years ago based around planning, development and professional work.
Last month, Conrad Ritblat announced it was reactivating the former Colliers Erdman Lewis’ office in Birmingham which was closed following the take-over.
Knight Frank has also initiated a search for staff and premises to open an office in Birmingham. It has circulated a requirement among local agents for 185 sq m (2,000 sq ft) of offices in Birmingham city centre which is believed to be for its own use.
