DTZ cleared for Manchester office-to-resi scheme

DTZ Investors, one of the biggest landlords on Manchester’s King Street, has been given the go-ahead to convert one of its retail and office assets into flats.

Manchester City Council has approved plans for the redevelopment of the 16,000 sq ft 58-66 King Street into 24 one- and two-bed rental flats. The project, designed by AEW Architects, is expected to begin in the spring and to complete during the third quarter of 2023. It will mark the first residential offering on King Street.

Tom Royston, director at DTZ, said: “City centre living is on the rise across Manchester. Most of the residential offering features high-rise towers, so we hope to offer something a bit different with character on King Street.”

Savills is acting as planning adviser to DTZ.
