DTZ Investors acquires former Guardian printworks site

DTZ Investors has bought the Guardian’s former printworks in Longbridge Road, Trafford Park, Manchester for £7.45m.

The 6.88-acre site was purchased for an in-house managed fund that also owns the adjoining Ashburton Point Industrial Estate.

DTZ Investors intend to deliver up to 150,000 sq ft of industrial space on the site via an extension of the existing holding, which comprises 18 units in sizes ranging from 5,000 sq ft to 65,000 sq ft.

Kevin O’Connor, fund manager at DTZ Investors, said: “We are delighted with the purchase of the site which sits within the major industrial conurbation of Manchester and adds critical mass and extends the offer of our existing holding.”

Savills acted for the purchaser and Graftongate will act as development manager for the fund. BNP acted for the vendor.
