Speakers at an Estates Gazette and Cluttons’ Global Real Estate debate in Dubai say a wave of new developments ahead of Expo 2020 will position the Emirate as a prime destination for firms seeking a gateway to the wider Middle East and Africa.
Dubai Airports marketing and communications vice president, Anita Mehra, said Dubai expects to treble the number of passengers travelling through its airports by 2030.
But the city is not without its challenges. WSW Architects chief executive Hazel Wong believes it needs to be more careful about the buildings built and focus more on planning for people.
Cluttons Middle East chief executive Steve Morgan believes the Emirate needs to focus on modernizing its banking sector in order to attract more interest from foreign investors.
