The Duchy of Cornwall was transformed from “a pile of land” into a £1bn commercial business by the former Prince of Wales.
An article in the New York Times notes that Charles “spent half a century turning his royal estate into a billion-dollar portfolio and one of the most lucrative moneymakers in the royal family business”.
The team of managers he put together over the last 10 years, it says, saw the portfolio’s value and profit rise by about 50%.
