Duke of Westminster’s property group plans 30,000 homes

One of Britain’s oldest property companies is about become one of its biggest housebuilders after committing to having 30,000 new homes within its development pipeline by 2023.

Grosvenor said that it wanted to help to combat the housing crisis by delivering whole new communities with thousands of new homes.

The company, which was established in 1667 and owns large parts of Mayfair and Belgravia in central London, holds property assets for the seventh Duke of Westminster, who at 27 is the world’s richest man under 30. It has £5.2bn of property assets worldwide and develops, manages and invests in more than 60 cities.
