Dunelm has signed as a tenant at Atria Watford, with the retailer set to move into the former John Lewis department store.
The retailer is preparing to open a 33,000 sq ft store at the shopping centre later this year, adding to its existing 179-store portfolio. The space has been empty since John Lewis shut its shop in 2020, as part of its store closure strategy.
The former Intu centre is owned by property company SGS and asset managed by Global Mutual, in conjunction with Savills as property managers.
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “We are continuing to diversify our brand mix. Dunelm is a new name for us, and its much-loved homewares will act as a real draw for customers as the store opens its doors later this year.”
