Dunwoody calls for planning regulation reforms

Gwyneth Dunwoody, the outspoken chair of the Commons transport select committee, has warned that changes to the “Byzantine planning regulations” are essential if the Government is to achieve real results with its ten year transport plan.

Speaking at a transport conference Dunwoody said that lengthy process times for applications was a “real barrier” to delivering major projects such as Heathrow’s Terminal 5.
