Two of the founding members of one of the Midlands’ largest agents, GBR Phoenix Beard, have quit the board.
Simon Robinson and John Griffiths have stepped down from the board of the firm formed by the merger of GBR and Phoenix Beard in July 2010.
They have now become self-employed consultants to the firm.
Robinson was joint head of investment and an architect of the merger between the two companies. He ran the merged firm, which comprised 70 staff, jointly with managing director Simon Farrant.
Robinson has followed in Griffiths’ footsteps. Griffiths was head of leasing but has left the firm to become a self-employed consultant.
Steve Benson, the third and final co-founder of GBR Property, will remain at GBRPB as a board director with Farrant, alongside ex-GBR Property director Ben Thacker and Catherine Gabriel.
Griffiths said: “This arrangement enables me to focus on client work, advising on some amazing projects, working with the best team in Birmingham, on a basis that works for me and GBR Phoenix Beard.”
Farrant added: “John Griffiths and Simon Robinson are an important part of our business plan going forward. The decision for them to work as consultants was a business decision and allows them to pursue other opportunities in addition to their consultancy work on behalf of GBR Phoenix Beard.”
