Dusseldorf landmark office sold for £55m

German open-ended fund Difa has paid £53.3m (DM164m) for one of Düsseldorf’s landmark buildings. Andrea Carpenter of  Europroperty reports.

Am Seestern 3 is a 32,650 sq m office investment, eight minute’s drive from the city centre. It was sold by a joint venture company between CGIS Deutschland of Potsdam and Hamburg-based Behne-Gruppe.

In 1995, the five-storey building was listed for its architectural merit and in 1998 it was completely refurbished. The property is fully let except for one small office suite and tenants include Porsche, Aprilia and Itochu Deutschland. Müller International advised on the sale.

Last week, Difa paid £36m (DM105m) for Artemis 1 in Munich.
