Dutch banks’ share of new mortgage lending falls

The share of the Dutch new mortgage market held by the country’s major banks has fallen to a record low, according to data from consultancy IG&H.

ABN Amro, ING and Rabobank – the country’s three largest lenders – accounted for 48% of the €18bn of new mortgages issued in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, non-bank lending platforms were behind nearly a quarter of the new issuance.
