The Dutch Embassy London building has formally been put up for sale, with offers over £150m expected from luxury residential players.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands has instructed Cushman & Wakefield to brings its 75,235 sq ft home at 38 Hyde Park Gate , SW7, to market.
Residential market sources said, based on its prime location, offers in excess of £150m were expected to be offered.
Paul Davis & Partners have worked up initial plans for the site, proposing 18 super-prime flats, 18 basement car park spaces, a gym and swimming pool.
The instruction follows the Netherlands finalising a deal with Ballymore last year for a new UK embassy in Nine Elms, SW8. It has been at Hyde Park Gate since 1953.
Under the Embassy deal, the buyer would lease back the building to the Dutch until 2018.
