Dyson decision sparks regret

A former opponent of Dysons plans to double the size of its Malmesbury, Wiltshire, factory, has spoken of his regret that the bagless vacuum cleaner company is to move production to Malaysia.

Jo Price, former chair of planning at the town council, said he did not want Dyson to leave Malmesbury. One factory was fine, it was just that two would have been pushing it, he said.

The Malmesbury site will remain open but purely for research and development rather than production.
