Birmingham-based East End Foods has revealed its £35m plans for the former Heinz HP Sauce factory in the city.
The privately-funded family firm plans to build a 100,000 sq ft cash-and-carry facility, alongside a hotel and conference centre on the site in Aston Cross.
Plans also include a 30,000 sq ft urban farm, which will form the £9m first phase of the development, as well as a technology centre, which will enable visitors to trace the journey of food production and sustainable farming methods.
East End Foods is believed to have paid Chancerygate £2.5m for the 6.25-acre site in March 2009.
